Wackytoons was a popular animated series that ran from 1926 to 2009 The First Wackytoon was Cat Battles and the last Wackytoon was Future Fights. The Wackytoons series had recurring characters Like, Kuckoo Kat, Berry Banana, Loose Boot and Doodle Duck the Wackytoons were very popular from the Mid 20's to the Late 70's but by the 80's the series began to wane and lose popularity despite all the directors attempt and the great animation, but nothing worked and by 2009 Rat Films Inc. (The Distributor) decided to end the series since then all the Wackytoons have been released and restored on DVD and Blu-Ray Uncut there has also been TV Show like The Kuckoo And Berry Show from 1978 to 1984 and The Kuckoo Kat Show from 1996 to 2009
Academy Awards[]
In 1932 Wackytoons reached an all-time high when the short April Showers was nominated for the academy award for best short another short was nominated for the academy award that same year "Toy Time" two years later Wackytoons would be nominated for two academy awards "The Singing Kitty" And "Time For Kris Kringle" finally in 1935 Wackytoons would win its first Academy Award with Swingtime Harmonics (The First Wackytoons Short in Technicolor) in 1938 they would win again with "The Hole" Ten years later in 1948 Wackytoons would another academy award with the short "Trap Happy Kat" the only Kuckoo Kat short to win the academy award for best short.
Characters[]
The First Character from Wackytoons was Kuckoo Kat then Berry Banana and Loose Boot but in between Berry Banana and Loose Boot was Blabbermouth Bird, Harry Hobo, And Andy Ant, Andy Ant was a very minor character and was retired after 1934's An Ants Pants, Blabbermouth Bird and Harry Hobo lasted longer than Andy Ant but where getting phased out by The late 1930s and were retired until 1943 and 1949 Doodle Duck was a replacement for both of them and stayed with the series until 2002 one year after Kuckoo Kat was retired.
Controversy[]
Though very popular Wackytoons has caused some controversies over the years like during the war years where they were making war time shorts some of these shorts are not seen on television or streaming today due to Japanese Sterotypes a good example would be the 1943 short Commando Kat the short was banned from ever airing on The Kuckoo And Berry Show but the time The Kuckoo Kat Show started airing in the Mid to Late 90's they decided to air the short but edit the short due to the Japanese Sterotypes within the short though the edited version was a mess and was not well favored over critics and audiences ever since then the edited short has been lost until 2011 when it was found in a trash can in London.
CinemaScope[]
In 1954 Wackytoons decided to get with the times and start making the cartoons in CinemaScope starting with Disappearance Inc. they would make cinemascope cartoons until 1959 for an undocumented reason.
