United Artists Animation (formerly Howard-Williams Productions) is an animation studio founded in 1924 by James Howard and Bob Williams but the studio wouldn't make theatrical cartoons until 1928 with their Comedy Classics series and in 1931 they would make a spin-off series called Beanie The Cat which was a multimedia success and because of this the studio was able to start making feature films starting with 1969's The Luckless Cat, in 1984, James Howard and Bob Williams would retire and become executive producers and would be replaced by Greg Ford, by the late 1990's things were getting tough James Howard and Bob Williams had died in 1993 and 1998 and their cartoons weren't doing so well as they used to, because of this their distributor United Artists decided buy the company in December of 1999 and by June of 2000 the company was renamed United Artists Animation and Greg Ford was forced out by January 2001 and replaced by Paul Fish and Tom Michaels, they stopped production of theatrical cartoons in 2005 only bringing the back once a time but they still make feature films and are also doing TV Shows and web shows.
